My partner and I have stayed in all the major hotels in Melbourne over a number of years and recently decided to stay at the Next Hotel, a newly opened hotel located in Little Collins Street. Following two outstanding visits to the Next Hotel we have decided that it will be our preferred hotel in Melbourne.
The hotel has outstanding staff and facilities. From a warm, courteous welcome from Reception staff to the Hotel Manager, David, who goes out of his way to make guests feel welcome and enjoy their stay, clearly this hotel has set, and is achieving, high professional standards.
During our two visits to the hotel we were able to access the Club Lounge. The lounge is wonderful, with excellent facilities and staff such as Sharon who quickly make you feel at home and valued as a guest of the hotel.
The rooms are of the highest standard and exceptionally quiet. The beds are extremely comfortable and the Hunter toiletries are fabulous.
We also enjoyed our dining experience in La Madonna, which services high quality offerings in a beautiful setting. This restaurant should be on everyone list of preferred dining experiences in Melbourne.
The location of the hotel is exceptional. It is close to a number of leading cafes and restaurants and also close to the heart of retail shopping in Melbourne. Everything is on the doorstep of the hotel.
For visitors to Melbourne that seek a quality hotel that genuinely values its guests and strives to provide the highest quality experience, the Next Hotel should be their first choice.

From the friendly door staff through the to checkin, this is a friendly and funky hotel. The room was well thought out and very modern (Dyson hair dryer to wireless bose speakers). The location is amazing (top end of Collins) and the in-house restaurant (La Madonna) is the best around for food and drinks. Also have access to various other restaurants literally 10 meters away such as Society. We used the valet parking service and happy to bring up our car as many times as we liked. Great launching pad to explore and rediscover the city again.

From start to finish “The Next Hotel” excels in every way. Stunning rooms (we stayed in a two bedroom suite) beautiful furnishings, quality linen, staff who simply exude their love for service and attention to detail rarely seen in Hotels of this calibre. This is a large hotel yet feels small and boutique in every way. Terrific central location, walking distance to all the wonders that Melbourne has to offer. We stayed as a family of four with two children 13 and 11 and the staff were so professional, discrete and accomodating. Phillip the barman in La Madonna bar made the most amazing mocktails for the kids and some truly amazing “adult” ones for us. We will make this hotel our preferred destination for our future stays. A real Gem.
